Rawsam Human Rights Center Delegation Visits Najaf Education Directorate
As part of its ongoing field monitoring of educational and public service institutions, and its commitment to promoting a culture of human rights within society, a delegation from the Rawsam Human Rights Center, an organization in consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), conducted an official visit to the Najaf Education Directorate.
The delegation was headed by Dr. Raafat Al-Babli, President of the Center and its representative at the United Nations, and included:
- Mr. Ali Mohammed Salman Adouh, Attorney-at-Law – Chairperson of the Human Rights Committee at the Center.
- Mr. Abbas Fadhil Hadi Jawad Al-Waeli, Attorney-at-Law – Member of the Human Rights Committee at the Center.
During the meeting, both sides discussed opportunities for cooperation between the Center and the Directorate in the fields of promoting human rights awareness within educational institutions and supporting educational programs aimed at building a school environment based on mutual respect, equality, and social justice.
The delegation emphasized the important role of education in developing citizenship values and protecting the rights of students and teachers. The Center also reaffirmed that it will continue its field visits to strengthen communication with governmental and civil institutions and to follow up on human rights conditions across various sectors.
