Human Rights Committee Visit of Rawsam Human Rights Center to Najaf Municipality
The Human Rights Committee of the Rawsam Human Rights Center, an organization in consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), conducted a visit to the Najaf Municipality following several complaints received from citizens and lawyers regarding delays in completing municipal transactions.
During the visit, the Committee met with Senior Legal Advisor Mr. Miqdad Al-Jubouri, who explained that the delays were caused by technical issues related to the internet service and the maintenance of the barcode system used within the e-government program for processing municipal transactions.
Mr. Al-Jubouri stated that procedures are underway to resolve the technical issue in coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure the normal continuation of services and accelerate the completion of citizens’ transactions.
The visiting Committee delegation included:
- Mr. Ali Adouh, Attorney-at-Law – Chairperson of the Committee.
- Dr. Abdul-Ridha Al-Hujaimi, Attorney-at-Law – Committee Member.
The Rawsam Human Rights Center reaffirms its commitment to monitoring public services, following citizens’ concerns, and promoting institutional transparency and human rights principles within community institutions.
