Rawsam Human Rights Center Conducts Field Visit to the German Najaf Teaching Hospital – Radiology and Ultrasound Department
The Rawsam Human Rights Center, an organization in consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), through its Human Rights Committee, continues its field activities to monitor healthcare institutions and follow up on the rights of healthcare workers and patients.
In this context, Dr. Raafat Abdulameer, President of the Center, who was visiting Iraq from Switzerland, conducted a field visit to the Radiology and Ultrasound Department at the German Najaf Teaching Hospital.
He was accompanied by members of the Center’s Human Rights Committee, including:
- Mr. Ali Mohammed Salman Adouh, Attorney-at-Law – Chairperson of the Human Rights Committee.
- Mr. Abbas Fadhil Hadi Jawad Al-Waeli, Attorney-at-Law – Member of the Human Rights Committee.
- Mr. Haider Karmasha, Attorney-at-Law – Member of the Human Rights Committee.
During the visit, the delegation reviewed the procedures followed to ensure radiation safety, including periodic health examinations for employees in cooperation with the relevant national authorities. The delegation was also informed about the regular maintenance of medical equipment by accredited entities, in addition to the presence of specialized technical staff responsible for maintenance within the department.
Dr. Raafat Abdulameer and the Committee members praised the high level of professionalism demonstrated by the radiology staff, as well as the effective organization within the department. They also reviewed administrative procedures related to obtaining patient consent, particularly in cases requiring special medical interventions.
The Rawsam Human Rights Center reaffirms its continued commitment to conducting field visits to monitor healthcare and administrative conditions, contributing to the protection of rights and the improvement of public services within state institutions.
